Social Stratification: when a group or inidividual is ranked as more derserving than another through the creation of a social heirarchy.
-The implication of Social Stratification upon those suffering from homlessness has resulted in an extreme separation between them and the upper class. This poses a problem because it often creates a wider margin between these two groups, making it harder for those in poverty to rise above their current situation.
Victim-Blaming: the act of blaming a victim for actions inflicted upon them.
-Those suffering from homelessness are often blamed for their own plight by those who do not know the circumstances. They can be accused of being lazy or incompitent when in fact there are many different reasons that one might be living on the streets, including mental illness, economic downfalls or domestic violence.
Social Inequality: When one has an unequal opportunity to access things such as privlege, wealth or power.
-By being denied not only the skills but the opportunity all together, those living in poverty are set back in the world and therefore have a harder time regaining their life.
